Copper clad doors to Katarina electricity substation Stockholm.
Description
The design was embossed into copper with explosives and called Sprängportarna or Blast doors.
Designed by Swedish artist Mikael Paul in 1992. The design includes manmade devices that require electricity like a guitar, waffle irons and an electric iron. The doors, actually designed to withstand a blast, are around 5.5 meters high made of reinforced concrete in contact with the copper plate. The process can be seen on www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6BnSV-wynI .They stand in Östgötagatan, Stockholm, Sweden. The substation is now the Stockholm mosque.
