Gannet - Morus bassanus - controlled flight.
Description
Gannet - Morus bassanus - controlled flight. In the vicinity of cliffs the gannets use updraughts and thermals to power their flight. To control speed and direction the wings are shaped to spill air and the large webbed feet deployed as air brakes. Up to the point of touch down, the gannet is a graceful and deft flyer.
